About the Good Food Institute

The Good Food Institute (GFI) is a nonprofit network of science think tanks with more than 240 full-time team members. GFI operates in APAC (Singapore, Japan, and Korea), Brazil, Europe, India, Israel, and the United States. GFI is focused on the science of creating taste- and price-competitive plant-based and cultivated meat, in order to lower meat’s adverse impact on the global poor, our environment, and global health. GFI’s work around the world is focused on scientific ecosystem building, government policy, and industry engagement.

Climate charity evaluator Giving Green recommends GFI as a top six charity for climate impact, highlighting its “successful track record, breadth of expertise, and strategic approach,” and calling it “a powerhouse in alternative protein thought leadership and action.”

New York Times columnist Ezra Klein says: “The Good Food Institute is … second-to-none in the influence of its public policy efforts, its centrality to the ecosystem of companies and researchers, and its international footprint.”

Andy Jarvis, director of the Bezos Earth Fund’s Future of Food programs says: “The Good Food Institute has been the global catalyst for alternative protein innovation, centering alternative proteins as an essential food and land use climate solution… The Bezos Earth Fund supports GFI because we recognize their vital role as a field catalyst for alternative proteins. We encourage others to join us in this support to fuel even greater impact.”

All royalties from Meat go directly to GFI.
